#1770 Still Life in oil by Tor Bjurström (1888-1966). Studied under Matisse during the early 1900's and returned to Sweden to form the Gothenburg School with Ivan Ivarsson and Ragnar Sandberg. With his bold expressionistic colors he was to take Swedish art in a whole new direction and quickly became one of its most influential artists during the first half of the 20th century.
